Hosteazy goes back to School
Hosteazy Web Hosting Services had the pleasure of being invited to both Our Lady Of Perpetual Help School, and Corpus Christi Elementary School to witness first hand the powerful messages delivered to the students on the subject of "Bullying" that tends to be ignored in our society today. Riley's successful Steps To Overcoming Problems (S.T.O.P.) program, discussing self-esteem, coping skills and conflict resolution was the main focus of the message directed to the students.

Riley wrote and directed a short drama "Don't Be A Bully" that educates both children and adults about bullying and violence.

In the movie, Matt is a troubled boy who takes out his frustrations on other children and everyone around him, including his parents, sister, and classmates. A teacher—reacts to Matt, but no one looks deeper to find out what's behind his aggression. Riley, as the school custodian (Drew), steps in to provide Matt with guidance. He communicates clearly, asks Matt questions about his feelings, and listens without judgment. By accepting the individual but not the behaviour, Riley shows that we can all own the problem of bullying.

With Riley performing a song from his CD "Children of the World" and the students watching Riley's "Don't Be A Bully" movie, it was easy to see why Riley has a gift for getting the word out to the schools and students alike.

During the course of the speaking events at both schools, Riley interacted with groups of students in a role play to show the students how much of an impact "bullies" can have on both younger and older kids. I watched as each role was played out while at the same time watching the assembly of students to see their reactions to the role playing and although it seemed comical at times, the message was quite clear that "bullies" will not be tolerated in our schools or society any longer.

During the last presentation at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help School, Riley had all the students sing Happy Birthday to one of the younger students that was celebrating her birthday on that day. That was indeed very touching to watch and participate in because just shortly before that, Riley commented to all the students to treat each other with love and respect and not say or do anything to hurt each other's feelings.

All in all these events were well planned with the main focus being on getting the message to the Students and Teachers that "bullying" will not be tolerated in their Schools.

We have had several opportunities to attend other events performed by Riley and the RYZE Band and have seen first hand the impact Riley has with the guests attending these functions leaving everyone awestruck with his songs and performances.

When Riley attends the School events he again brings forth his great talent as a singer, speaker and performer in a totally different manner with a direct and powerful message being delivered.

Hosteazy would like to encourage all Schools, not only in Vancouver and surrounding areas, but also other Provinces and States to support Riley by inviting him to their schools to get these messages about bullying to their students.

Riley has an Information Package designed specifically for schools. You can call Riley at any of the phone numbers on the contact page, or simply email Riley for more information. As well, you can download the Information Package pdf file which you can find on the Schools link in the navigation menu.

We are confident that the more interaction Riley has in the schools, the better chance there is to educate students about bullying and the impact it can have, not only in the schools, on the school bus, the playgrounds, but also at home.

We look forward to being invited to attend more and more of these School Events to help support Riley's S.T.O.P. project, both morally and financially in order to allow S.T.O.P. to produce more material - such as, videos, CD's etc. to continue the quest to stop Bullying.
