Our dream project, The Smart Time Out Project (STOP), is dedicated to bringing people together, both in person and virtually, to care, connect, learn, network, and mix & mingle without the interruption of electronics, cell phones, earplugs, and other devices.
When we are not constantly directed by our cell phones, we experience true connection to ourselves and others.
The rule is simple: leave your cell phone at home, in the car, or at the front door to engage with people in person for a minimum of 2 hours.
YES, THIS IS POSSIBLE FOR YOU AS WELL!
We aim to organize local STOP events at beautiful retreat venues, classy cocktail lounges, wineries, fun local restaurants, and parks.
Through monthly mixers, we will grow to appreciate, support, and learn from each other, without the cell phone and other electronics nearby to interrupt our quality time together.
Our vision and mission support the slogan “disconnect to connect” and are meant to bring us closer together to find friendship, support, a shared story, or just that listening ear you needed.
Spending time without electronics and cell phones offers a variety of benefits that can significantly enhance your physical, mental, and social well-being. Here are some key advantages:
Constant notifications and the demands of social media can increase stress and anxiety. Disconnecting helps reduce this constant barrage of information and allows your mind to relax and decompress.
Without the constant interruptions from electronic devices, you can focus better on tasks. This improved concentration can lead to higher productivity and efficiency in both work and personal activities.
Spending time away from screens allows you to engage more deeply with the people around you. Face-to-face interactions are crucial for building strong, meaningful relationships.
Free from digital distractions, your mind can wander and think more creatively. This can lead to new ideas and perspectives, enhancing problem-solving and creative skills.
Being away from gadgets can help you live in the moment and
enjoy your surroundings, promoting a greater sense of mindfulness and presence.
Regular breaks from digital devices can help prevent the negative effects of excessive screen time, such as digital eye strain and tech addiction.
Incorporating periods without electronics into your daily routine can be refreshing and revitalizing, offering a much-needed break in our increasingly digital world.
Join Us for the STOP Event
We invite you to our in-person networking mixer on Saturday, March 22, from 2 pm - 4pm CST at The Girl Cave at The Shops of Willow Bend, PLANO, Texas
Our Objective:
We embrace the Smart Time Out Project as we DISCONNECT TO CONNECT and leave our phones and devices at the door (or at home). The minimum time to disconnect is two hours, so we can truly experience time away from our addictive devices and focus on ourselves and each other. We truly want to spend time embracing, rubbing elbows, hobnobbing, schmoozing, circulating, and associating with old and new friends and contacts. Whether you join to connect for personal reasons or for your business, make sure you sign up for fun and joy.
